Happy St Patrick's Day

Wishing everyone a Happy St Patrick's Day to all my readers in Ireland and overseas.

March 17th is a special day for the Irish to celebrate  the feast day of our national saint, St Patrick.

No other national feast day is celebrated around the world like St Patrick's Day, but I sometimes think those living abroad have more fun than those of us at home. I hope you have a great St Patrick's Day, wherever  you are.

  1. Happy St. Patrick's Day, Mairéad! I hope you have an enjoyable day! The shamrocks are lovely!. My husband's family is from Ireland, so I thoroughly enjoy this holiday. My family hails from Scotland a few generations back, but I think everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day. Some people tend to go overboard celebrating here! If I had been born before midnight on St. Patrick's Day, I would have been called Patricia Louise instead of Myrtle Louise. But I was born very early on the 18th. Either way I still would have been called Louise which is an old family name in my family. Have a great week!
